Last but not least, we have sony once again. People ask me why I lean towards sony, I am not a biased person, but If a company makes good products, I will definitely tell people about it. This soundbar is also considered as one of the best soundbars without a subwoofer, it does lack a rear speaker, but It’s definitely better than some other 2.1ch soundbars in this price range.

Main Structure

As with all other Sony products, this thing feels luxurious. Half solid half Perforated design looks just amazing. Holes on the side of the soundbar make sure the bass is coming out of the soundbar in a proper manner.

In this compact soundbar, Sony has finally listened to its users. They have added multiple HDMI and other ports, making sure you can connect multiple devices with it. A silver line at the end of the soundbar gives it a premium look. You can still connect your wireless subwoofer with this thing and have a full home theater system. You can align it perfectly with your TV, or you can mount it with your wall.

Sound Quality

As I mentioned earlier on this blog, few companies have tried to develop 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos, dts studio sound speakers for home theater systems without any success. Finally, Sony has achieved that, and I must say they have done a good job with it. The sound is clear till the last octave, and you can feel all those details in the music which are not visible on ordinary soundbars. This thing does its work perfectly well. I didn’t find any major complaint regarding the sound quality of this product.

Sound Features

Sony has included a special kind of audio processing unit in this thing. It’s called D.C.A processor (Digital Cinema Auto Calibration), It makes sure all the details are transferred properly to your ears without losing anything on its way. The sound is always on point, just as you want it to be.

No extra noise, no distortion, nothing. It just plays your music as you want with clear sound. The DTS:X technology is also working really well in this thing. I am not a big fan of these new technologies, but when I tried them for the first time, it was amazing. An added advantage of this product is that Sony has finally included Multiple HDMI ports. (I just love to have)

I am a big fan of 7.1 sound systems. In fact, I have so many of them now, it’s becoming difficult for me to store them. This compact soundbar is just the perfect thing for people who don’t want to assemble a home theater system.

It simply gives you everything you need at a single price, and that’s why it is one of my personal favorites. If you are confused between Sony HT-MT300 vs. HTX8500, then let me tell you one thing in this range, the sound is almost the same, I can feel the difference, but it’s really minute. The main thing which made me choose this over sony is just a few extra features and low profile designs.

Yes, you can add as many wireless subwoofer as you want to but it will not be a perfect 7.1 system still it will work great for movie watching. This is not a “Yes” for all soundbars; some soundbars still don’t allow you to add an external subwoofer.

No, there is no position sensor present in the box when you buy this thing.

Q. If I install it on the wall, can I use it as a shelf or will it fall down?

Well, that is a serious question (Kidding). No, you can not use your soundbar as a shelf, however, you can place some light stuff like cash, keys, and remote control on it. But if you are planning to place some heavyweights on it, it will eventually fall.

Well, that depends on how you are using it. If you are using it every day for 8 hours at a stretch then the life of the soundbar is around 3 to 4 years. But one thing I want to tell you is it’s better to replace your soundbar after every 5 years cause they wear out with time.
